In Year 8, a new scheme of work has been devised to meet the demands of the Revised Curriculum which addresses key components such as Personal Health and Citizenship. It also covers a wide range of thinking skills and personal capabilities which include managing information, decision making, problem solving, being creative, self management and working with others.

Pupils are also encouraged to develop their skills in organising, discussions, researching science from textbooks and the Internet, carrying out investigations and compiling reports.

These areas of the revised curriculum are and will be covered under topics such as the classification, cell structures, plants, body systems, materials, chemical reactions and forces and energy.

All pupils sit a KS3 assessment in Science at the end of year 10.
